Project Management

Project Management is a discipline that must be well-organized and systematically planned, as it involves careful organization for the purpose of successfully completing a project. A project is a planned work that involves specific goals, a start date and target end date, budgets, progress etc.

How to use

You may create new Project directly from [Projects] module. This will require you to enter Project details manually.

To create a new Project manually in Second CRM, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to All > Support > Projects at the navigation area.
  2. Click on the + Add Project button as shown below:

    Once you have clicked the button, your screen should appear just like below:

  3. Enter Project information. Fields marked with an asterisk [ * ] are mandatory.
  4. Once done, click the Save button to transfer your data to your Second CRM database.

To View Project details information:

  1. Click on the Project name and the Project summary will appear. In this page you will only see the summary for that particular Project.
  2. To view full details, click on the Show Full Details button, or click on Project Details on the tab on the right as shown below:

  3. Once you open the Project details, your screen should appear just like below:

  4. The right side tab will display a view of the relations of the Projects module with other modules, and maintains a log of the Project’s complete history in Second CRM.

You can perform the following operations by clicking on [Action] drop down button in list view:
  • Select Edit to modify selected record(s.)
  • Select Delete to delete selected record(s).
  • Select Add Comment to add a comment to the selected record(s).
  • Select Import or Export to Import or Export a list of Projects.
  • Select Find Duplicate to find duplicate record(s).

List of operations you can perform on detail view of a Project record:
  • Click Edit to modify the record.
  • Click More > Delete to delete the record.
  • Click More > Duplicate to clone the record.
  • Click More > Add Project Task to start creating a Project Task.
  • Click More > Add Document to add a document to the record.

Project Task is a piece of work allocated to a user or a group that should be accomplished within the defined period of time.

You can create a Project Task from within the Projects module. To create a Project Task, follow the steps below :

  1. Go to All > Support > Projects at the navigation area.
  2. Click on the desired Project record.
  3. Then, click on Project Tasks on the right side tab and click on + Add Project Task as shown below:

  4. Enter Project Task information. Fields marked with an asterisk [ * ] are mandatory.
  5. Once done, click the Save button to transfer your data to your Second CRM database.


List of operations you can perform on detail view of a Project Task record:
  • Click Edit to modify the record.
  • Click More > Delete to delete the record.
  • Click More > Duplicate to clone the record.
  • Click More > Add Document to add a document to the record.

Project Milestones denote a phase of great significance within the project schedule. They are a record of important events or achievements within the course of the project’s completion.

You can create Project Milestones from within the Projects module. To create a Project Milestone, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to All > Support > Projects at the navigation area.
  2. Click on the desired Project record.
  3. Then, click on Project Milestones on the right side tab and click on + Add Project Milestone as shown below:

  4. Enter Project Milestone information. Fields marked with an asterisk [ * ] are mandatory.
  5. Once done, click the Save button to transfer your data to your Second CRM database.


List of operations you can perform on detail view of Project Milestones record:
  • Click Edit to modify the record.
  • Click More > Delete to delete the record.
  • Click More > Duplicate to clone the record.

Field Information

Table: List of default data entry fields for Projects

Start Date Specify the project start date.
Target End Date Provide a tentative project end date.
Actual End Date Provide an actual end date after the project is completed.
Status Provide the status of the project.
Progress Specify the current progress on project advancement.
Target Budget Provide anticipated expenditures for the project.

Related Record

Table: Related Module at Projects

Comments Displays all comments exchanged across different users in relation to this Project.
Updates Displays history of modifications done to the Project record.
Project Task View existing Project Tasks or create a new Project Task.
Project Milestones View existing Project Milestones or create a new Project Milestone.
Content Library Notes added to Project record will be displayed as Documents.
Service Request To view Service Requests associated with the Project record.
